Good to know and technical FAQ

Here we list a few items that might get you out of trouble while installing, running and removing the cloudy.sh client application.

Running

We recommend to:
  1. Keep your shares alive for a short amount of time, such as when you need to transfer a file from a computer to another and have no other meaningful possibilities, create a private shared folder, do the copying and turn off the share either from the web or from the client when done.
  2. We recommend creating short lived folders, with only the copies of your data you want to share.
  3. In case you need to share data with others create a dedicated shared folder, send the link, and after you have the confirmation of receipt simply delete the shared folder.
  4. Do not share your home folder, root folder of your computer, network shares, folders containing important information, or folders where you don't have a full overview of their content.
